SHAG week at Nottingham Trent University

By Jess Matthews

In April The SuPer Project attended SHAG week at NTU Clifton and City campuses. We got to talk to students about all things menstruation, period poverty and reusable products. In keeping with our passion to educate people about their menstrual and reproductive health we had fun activities to teach people about their anatomy. The students were very knowledgeable and Mel and I were nothing short of impressed.

We also spoke to people about The SuPer Projects mission. Many of the students had heard about reusable period products but haven't tried them. Reusable pads are not everyone's cup of tea but we did get to tell them about all the other products that are on the market. After having these conversations a good majority of the students were more open to the idea of giving them a go.

We also got to enjoy some sweet treats provided by the other stall holders and had great fun trying ‘bra pong’ which involved trying to get a ping pong ball into a bra attached to a stand on the NTSU’s stall. It was a lot harder than it looked!

We truly enjoyed both our days at NTU. Most of all we love talking to people and helping to provide knowledge and advice about periods. Thank you to everyone that spoke to us, bought a pad, took some merch or even just said hello. You were all SuPer!
